At Ventia people are the heart of our success, and we love sharing stories about our people who are passionate about giving back to the communities we work in.

Through the work we do and the issues we support, Ventia works with disadvantaged communities across Australia and New Zealand. Through our support of social housing, through our recruitment programs that support people with disability, through our engagement of social and Indigenous enterprises, and through our sponsorship of events and programs that work to improve opportunity for communities.

One organisation we're thrilled to be supporting in 2023 is the St Vincent de Paul Society in Western Australia, also known as Vinnies WA.

Ventia will be raising funds which will help provide support to some of the most vulnerable members of the community.

Through a number of activities, starting in June, we will be raising funds which will help provide support to some of the most vulnerable members of the community.

Vinnies WA provides person-centered care, delivered through services and programs which change the lives of the people they assist.

Group CEO Dean Banks says the goals of Vinnies align well with Ventia's.

"Being people and community focused is central to our sustainable approach," Dean says.

Supporting an organisation like Vinnies helps us generate momentum to create a positive social impact.

Vinnies WA CEO Susan Rooney says, "We're incredibly grateful to have the generous support of Ventia and their staff. Partnerships like these are vital in helping us support vulnerable members of the West Australian community."

CEO Sleepout

Ventia CEO Dean Banks will be participating in the WA CEO Sleepout on Thursday 22 June at Optus Stadium in Perth.

Every night, 122,000+ people are experiencing homelessness in Australia, including more than 9,700 West Australians. On 22 June, leaders in business, community and government cross the country will do the same - and raise millions of dollars for Vinnies' homelessness services.

It's a single night in the open, but it will change lives.

"I am looking forward to being able to contribute in a small way to Vinnies efforts to support homeless communities in WA," Dean says.

A home is a right, not a privilege and I am pleased to note that funds raised from this event will provide education, counselling, employment and health services to tackle the root causes of inequality and help end homelessness.

You can make a donation to Dean's Team Ventia page here to support West Australians in need.

Beanie to Black Tie - WA Charity Ball

To further support the communities we work in, Ventia will be hosting a first of its kind Charity Ball on Friday 23 June. This event is an initiative originating from our Western Australian Steering Committee, a team of talented individuals from across all our Ventia Sectors who are proudly striving to redefine service excellence in WA.

General Manager Warren Farrow, who heads up the steering committee, says tables for the ball sold out within three weeks of going on sale.

"Our suppliers and clients put their hands up really quickly to support Vinnies WA by coming along to our ball," Warren says.

"To know that they are aligned with our purpose, and that of Vinnies is heart-warming.

The Beanie to Black Tie, WA Charity Ball - will be held at the iconic Optus Stadium.

"It's going to be a great night of entertainment, auctions and connecting with colleagues.'

Most importantly, funds raised from the night will all go directly to Vinnies WA to support their work.

This sell-out event has four Platinum sponsors including WA-locals Regency Foods, Boom Logistics, Tech Force and RTM Traffic Management. We are privileged to have clients such as Inpex, Chevron and BP also supporting this event.

Our live auction will be hosted by well-known Channel 10 News presenter Tim Gossage, supported by a lived experience keynote speaker from the Vinnies community.

If you missed out on a ticket and would still like to support Vinnies WA, perhaps through donating an auction item for the night, please reach out to Brittany Mucciarone for details on how you can contribute.

Vinnies Winter Appeal

In addition to hosting the Beanies to Black Tie ball, Ventia is encouraging our 35,000+ workforce to donate directly to the Vinnies Winter Appeal here. This year's appeal focusses on older women experiencing homelessness.

About Vinnies WA

Vinnies is one of Australia's largest national charities, founded over 150 years ago to support Australians living in poverty. Annually in WA, Vinnies supports over 61,000 individuals.

Vinnies may be more commonly recognised by their retail stores that are scattered around the country. It is the revenue from these stores, donations from the public and corporate partnerships like ours that fund the work of Vinnies in the community. Vinnies provides a variety of services including Emergency Assistance and Support Program, financial counselling, as well as specialist homelessness, housing and mental health services.
