We have operated and maintained New Zealand's Lyttelton 1.9km Tunnel since 2013, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

New Zealand's Lyttelton, near Christchurch, lies in an earthquake prone zone which means we need to be conduct both reactive and planned maintenance. The biggest challenges faced so far occur daily, where we must manage the ageing asset as it remains open to the public.

The Lyttelton Tunnel sends dangerous goods such as fuel tankers through under a full closure at night. It is the only tunnel in Australasia to practice such a method.
