Description
Delivered by the Spark Consortium, the project includes 6.5km twin tunnels connecting the M80 Ring Road to the Eastern Freeway, completing the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway system. The project will also deliver new parklands, nature reserves and wildlife crossings, walking and cycling paths, and upgraded public transport connections.
Scope of work
Ventia’s scope during construction involves leading the pre-operational phase, including:
- Operational readiness planning
- Participation in Ssystem commissioning and integration
- Safety and performance culture development
- Control room mobilisation
- Development of operational processes and performance frameworks
Once construction is complete, Ventia will deliver asset management services including operations, incident response, maintenance, and asset replacement. Ventia’s extensive experience in motorway and tunnel operations will support safe, efficient and reliable journey management.
