Ventia staff are limbering up for a month of fitness to raise money for Austin Health in Melbourne.

Now in its second year, the 1000 Minute Challenge is a great opportunity to get fit, improve your mental wellbeing and raise money for life-saving equipment from 1 to 31 March.

Located in north-east Melbourne, Austin Health has been one of Ventia's valued clients for more than 10 years, providing facilities and asset maintenance services for the hospital and its equipment.

Ventia Executive General Manager Social Infrastructure Rhys Barker said the organisation was delighted to support the hospital and the community it serves.

"Ventia is proud to work with Austin Health not only in a professional capacity but also in its fundraising endeavours, which is why we are sponsoring the 1000 Minute Challenge again this year," Rhys said.

Sponsoring this event is our way of saying thank you to the healthcare professionals at Austin Health for the important work they do, particularly during the past two years caring for our loved ones during the pandemic.

"Last year the event raised more than $250,000 to purchase vital hospital equipment, including vital signs monitors, ECG machines and items for physiotherapy, and Team Ventia is keen to ensure the 1000 Minute Challenge is again a great success."

To raise money for Austin Health, participants need to get people to sponsor them to exercise for at least 30 minutes a day and reach 1000 minutes by the end of March.
