Ventia has been awarded the Department of Justice and Community Safety (Victoria) Asset Management Services Contract (AMSC) worth $71.4M. The contract has an initial term of five years with two, two-year options to extend for a maximum of nine years. Operations will commence on 1 August, 2022.

Through the AMSC, we will be responsible for maintaining 24 State-owned and managed facilities across Victoria, including correctional facilities, post sentence facilities, Youth Justice, Security and Emergency Services Group (SESG) training centres and community fire refuge centres.

These facilities are operated by four agencies: Corrections Victoria, Emergency Management Victoria Community Fire Refuges, Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine, and Youth Justice.

Group Chief Executive Officer Dean Banks said that Ventia's strategy of being client-focused, innovative and sustainable is in alignment with the Department's focus under the AMSC.

"This contract is testament to the capabilities we have developed in facilities and asset management and we have a relentless pursuit to redefine service excellence across a number of critical infrastructure facilities in Victoria," Dean said.

Group Executive of Defence and Social Infrastructure Derek Osborn said our strength in innovative, data-driven asset management supports the Department's broader asset management strategy.

Ventia is pleased to leverage our extensive asset management experience in Victoria, along with our capabilities in the corrections sector, to bring our focus on innovation and sustainability to the Department of Justice.

"As one of the largest essential services providers in Australia and New Zealand, we have a proud history of maintaining operations and assets that are vital to communities,' Derek says.

"Through this contract, the capabilities and experience of our team will ensure the Department's facilities remain safe and fit for purpose for the delivery of essential community services.'
