Ventia has once again demonstrated its expertise in asset management of large complex transport infrastructure.

The Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) has announced the contract award for the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) project to an Alliance made up of Ventia, John Holland Group, Bouygues, Arcadis, and Jacobs.

The T2D project, a $15.4 billion investment by the South Australian and Australian Governments, will complete the 78km North-South Corridor. This corridor is set to revolutionise Adelaide’s traffic landscape by providing a seamless, traffic-light-free route that connects Gawler and Old Noarlunga, effectively easing the city’s notorious congestion.

Ventia’s extensive knowledge of asset management will be used to inform the design of T2D to ensure the sustainability of the infrastructure. This ‘whole-of-asset-lifecycle’ thinking is also evident in the contribution Ventia makes to Melbourne’s North East Link and Sydney’s Western Harbour Tunnel.

Upon completion of construction, the Maintenance and Incident Response (M&IR) services will commence under a new contract. The scope of these future services includes the open motorway, tunnels, managed motorway systems, intelligent transport systems (ITS), s of the 10.5km T2D section, and 24/7 Roadside Assistance and Incident Response Services for a 26km section of the Corridor, inclusive of the T2D.
