Ventia today announced it had been awarded a new contract to continue to deliver the next tranche of build services for Telstra InfraCo’s nationwide intercity fibre network project.

As part of newly released works along the Melbourne-Sydney-Brisbane routes of the high capacity, ultra-low-latency fibre project, Ventia will carry out parts of the build of the inland fibre links between Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney, while leading the network design, land access management and build of the Sydney to Brisbane coastal route.

Ventia was first awarded the InterCity Fibre Network program in 2022. The new contract will commence in August, and span 3.5-years over the build delivery period.

With this multi-year build, Telstra InfraCo will be bolstering its national fibre network to improve its size, reach and bandwidth.

"We're excited to further our strategic partnership with Telstra and continue working on this ambitious digital infrastructure project,” said Mark Ralston, Ventia's Group Executive – Telecommunications.

We make infrastructure work for our communities and take pride in building the connectivity of the future and connecting people to faster networks.

“Ventia has a long track-record in the delivery of national fibre networks and continues to play a key role in building the nation's telecommunications infrastructure. Our strategy is to redefine service excellence by being client-focused, innovative and sustainable.”
