The Board of Ventia Services Group Limited (ASX: VNT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Damon Rees as a new independent non-executive Director, with effect from 1 July 2023.

Ventia's Chairman, David Moffatt said: 'The Board and I are delighted that Damon has agreed to join Ventia. Damon is a business leader with extensive executive and non-executive experience in client service delivery, leadership and culture, digital enablement, and technology innovation. Damon has also led complex, multi-year transformational change, organisational performance improvement, and improved client outcomes.

Damon Rees will join Ventia as a new independent non-executive Director in 1 July 2023.


Damon's experience spans the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors. He is currently the Managing Principal & CEO of Better As Usual Pty Ltd, a practitioner-led professional services organisation committed to customer success and positive social impact.

Previously, Damon was the CEO of Service NSW and was the NSW Government's first Chief Information & Digital Officer and Deputy Secretary of ICT & Digital Government within the Department of Finance, Services & Innovation. Prior to these roles, Damon was also the Chief Digital Officer at Macquarie Bank, having earlier served as the Chief Technology Officer and interim Chief Information Officer at Woolworths, and as Westpac's Head of Integrated Delivery.

He served as an independent non-executive Director of GP Synergy, a federally funded general practice education and training provider.

In 2018, Damon was awarded the Sir James Wolfhenson scholarship to study at the Harvard Kennedy School. He holds a Global Executive MBA with the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Information Technology from the University of Technology. Damon is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He will stand for election at Ventia's AGM in May 2024. This announcement has been authorised by the Board.
