What a week it's been for Ventia at the Asset Management Council 2022 AMPEAK conference in Canberra.
Several of our expert asset managers presented on various topics:
- Felicia Tristanto on Asset Management for a Resilient Future
- Mary Irwin-Davies on Australian Assets and the AR6 (as member of the AMC Sustainability and Resilience in Asset Management sub-committee)
- Bharat Sharma on Managing Risk and Prioritising Maintenance through an Improved Structural Health Index
- Paul O'Docherty on Organisational evolution to keep pace with a fast-changing industry
- Martin Boettcher on Practical approach to measuring and managing equipment condition, and
- Matthew Kidd and Trevor Walker on Moving toward Next Generation Asset Management
We proudly sponsored the reconnection of our asset management peers during the Networking Drinks on Monday evening, where we also raised $300 for Beyond Blue by auctioning off a custom quilt, made by Martin Boettcher and his fiancé Jodie, representing the six phases of asset management.

Asset Management Sustainability Award
Capping off the event, Ventia took out the Asset Management Sustainability Award for our lifecycle cost assessment and LED lighting upgrade project at Australian Defence Force bases across the country.
As part of Ventia's 'base of the future' program, our Asset Management team, led by Lincoln Turner and working closely with Defence's Security and Estate Group, identified an opportunity to reduce overall lifecycle costs for our client, as well as the carbon footprint. Upgrades were made following analysis of planned and reactive maintenance, and broad research of the available technology and its application.
General Manager Asset Management Andrew Bartlett said the improvements aligned with our commitment to redefining service excellence through client focus, innovation and sustainability.
"The LED lighting program resulted in significant energy use reductions," Andrew says.
This simple solution is part of Ventia's Defence Sustainable Energy Solutions program, which in conjunction with our asset management strategies, aims to deliver leading capability to the Australian Defence Force.
