Our Defence team in Western Australia recently supported a five-day bushfire emergency that threatened homes and property in the Shady Hills and East Bullsbrook region. The affected region includes RAAF Base Pearce where Ventia provides firefighting and base support services to the Australian Department of Defence.
Our teams provided firefighting support at the base and to the Western Australia Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES), replenishing water supplies at local fires with our fire appliances. And our experienced Catering and Inflight team kept everyone going with water and meals for the firefighters, waterbombing crews and Air Force personnel.
Ventia Station Officer, Anthony Oliver, was pleased to be in attendance when The Hon Linda Reynolds, Defence Minister visited the base to thank Australian AirForce and Ventia for the support to the emergency.
The RAAF Pearce Team was also presented with an Air Command Australia commemorative coin from WOFF Ken Robertson to thank them for their support during the event
