How do I apply for a position with Ventia?

Visit our careers page which will provide helpful information on working for Ventia and links to our available opportunities. You can search our jobs on the careers page either by keyword or location. When you find a position you are interested in, you can view the full advertisement and key requirements before you apply. Applications are managed via our confidential, online recruitment platform and are not accepted via email.

How do I sign up for job alerts?

If you have a profile with us, log into your profile. Once you log in there will be an 'Options' dropdown menu, select ‘Job Alerts’. In this section, you can switch on email notifications and create specific alerts for your preferences. If you do not have a profile with us, you can sign up to our talent community and create a profile first. 

I have applied for a position, what happens now?

We will send you an automated response via email confirming receipt of your application. The standard recruitment process for most of our roles is:

  • If your skills match the job requirements, the recruiter will call you for a phone interview
  • If you are successful in your phone interview, your resumé will be shortlisted and provided to the reporting manager
  • From the shortlist review, you may be invited for an interview, which may be face to face or using technology as required

Selection for some roles may also include:

  • Additional interview(s) (behavioural)
  • Right to work / Visa checks
  • Pre-employment checks including references, medical and police checks (selected positions). All roles will require a pre-employment medical (either online or in-clinic)
  • Psychometric and/or skills testing (usually online)
Who can apply?

We are always looking for the brightest and best, and we love to hear from interested individuals. Our vacancies are not intended for recruitment agencies and we therefore do not accept responsibility for fees related to unsolicited applications from suppliers representing individuals.

Do I need to be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian Permanent Resident to apply for a position?

To be employed in Australia or New Zealand you are legally required to have what is referred to as "right to work". To have a right to work you may be a citizen, a Permanent Resident or hold a visa that enables employment.

How long does the recruitment process take?

This will vary greatly depending on which part of the business the position is in. Where additional pre-employment checks are required (eg police checks) this can potentially extend the process by a few weeks. We will keep you notified of outcomes as quickly as we can. 

Can I apply for more than one job at a time?

That would be great! Just make sure each position you apply for matches your experience. We will consider you against each job you apply for.

Does applying for this role mean I will also be considered for others?

Once you have applied for a position with us, your details will be stored in our talent community system which means that you may be contacted for future opportunities that are relevant to your experience. You can also sign up for job alerts to be notified of relevant opportunities. 

I did not apply for this specific role – why am I being contacted?

Your details will be kept in our talent community system once you have applied to a position, so you may be contacted further down the line for new / relevant opportunities as they arise.

How do I get an update on a position that I have applied for?

Some advertised roles will include the recruiter’s contact details so you can contact them directly. Otherwise, you are welcome to email Please be aware that it is normal process for the recruitment team to wait until the close of the advertising period before contacting applicants.

Is my application confidential?

The information you provide is only used for employment purposes. Your details will be treated confidentially in accordance with our Privacy Statement.

How do I delete my record?

If you no longer want to store your details on our recruitment database, please contact your recruiter or email and we will update our records.

How do I withdraw my application?

Log into your profile, select the role you have applied and then select the ‘withdraw’ option. Please make sure you also contact you recruiter (where relevant) to advise them of your decision.

I know a candidate who meets the criteria of one of the current advertised roles, can I refer them?

Yes that would be great! We welcome referrals to the business. Please ask your contact to apply to the relevant role via the link provided in the advert.

Does Ventia offer opportunities for graduates?

The #VentiaGrad program is a two-year program consisting of 2 x 6-month rotations and 1 x 12-month rotation, commencing in January each year. We offer opportunities for graduates in a wide range of disciplines including: Business, Communication, Construction, Engineering, Environmental, Finance, Health & Safety, Marketing, Procurement and Project Management. What document formats will the recruitment system accept?

Our recruitment system will accept .doc, .docx, .txt. and .pdf documents.

What is the largest file size the system will accept?

The system will accept documents up to 5MB.

What if I don't accept the Privacy Statement or agree to the use of my personal details and application history for Ventia’s recruitment activities?

You will be unable to continue with the recruitment process.

I want to change or add a document to an application I have already submitted. How do I do this?

Once you have submitted your application it can no longer be changed. Please contact the Recruitment Team via to discuss further.

I have forgotten my password. What do I do?

On the login page, click the 'Don't know your password?' link which will trigger an email to you with a link to reset your password. 

I have changed my email address, what do I do?

Contact the Recruitment Team on to reset your email.

Can I change my personal details?

You can log into your profile  at any time and click 'Update profile' to edit your details, including name, address, email and phone number.
