Effectively managing safety on motorways and in tunnels involves keeping lanes clear and traffic flowing for road users. We are proud that several of Australia's largest road and motorway network managers trust Ventia to keep everyone on the move.

Ventia's Incident Response teams are first on scene for unplanned traffic incidents and work closely with emergency services and relevant government agencies and authorities to minimise disruption and maximise safety. Watch our video below to hear about how we aim to keep road users moving and safe every day.

Our managed Operations Control Rooms provide supportive first contact for state authority traffic management centres and emergency services forming an important part of our overall incident response services offer. With highly skilled response crews, dispatched to manage all incidents, no matter how big or small, it is our job to:

  • manage the road and the safety of the public,
  • ensure optimum safe lane availability,
  • repair and restore damaged road assets quickly and safely,
  • provide up-to-date traveler information for the public, our client and wider response teams.

People stop their vehicle for all sorts of reasons, from a simple breakdown to a multi-vehicle accident, a major special event or even a natural disaster. We can provide a 24-hour tow to safety and breakdown service for traffic breakdowns, respond quickly to urgent emergency situations such as motor vehicle crashes, as well as helping clients plan for road closures and detours.

While a tow-truck arriving to remove a stranded vehicle seems fairly straightforward, it is often carried out in either heavy traffic congestion or a high-speed environment, so must be performed with caution to ensure the safety of all involved.

Responding to a more significant incident, such as an overturned fuel tanker requires:

  • immediate response with extensive additional specialist resources.
  • close coordination with emergency services to protect the public and the environment.
  • minimisation of damage to the road and surrounding infrastructure.
  • emergency repair work.
  • road network restoration to normal operational conditions.

To support a high standard of incident response, teams must be highly skilled and that's why we provide ours with extensive training. Leading the way in Australia, we train our people using virtual simulation techniques, as well as providing first aid and firefighting training to ensure well-rounded experience, and equipping them to handle any situation, including:

  • first response.
  • firefighting.
  • first aid, including CPR and using a defibrillator (these are fitted in all our vehicles)
  • conflict resolution, interpersonal communications and customer care for people in distress.

Ventia manages incident response across some of Australia's major arterial roads, road networks and high-density urban motorways and tunnels in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, going above and beyond for our clients and their customers.

We respond swiftly, clear lanes as quickly and safely as possible, and return traffic to normal operations to keep our cities and their people moving with confidence.
